Starting over sucks. When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don't kill him first, that is.
Dear lord, WHAT'S WITH SPOILS IN THE SUMMARY?

Moving on.

My definition of a good book: a) an emotional roller coaster. Check. b) Great characters (with a smart ass thrown in). Check. c) Humor. *Snickers* Check. d) A leading female that has a love for books and blogging—wait, that goes on the “Exceeds Expectations” list. e) Awesome, unintentional Doctor Who moments!…….whoops again, that’s the “Outstanding-I’ll-no-longer-be-your-friend-if-you-don’t-read” list.

I’ve read a lot of YA books, some amazing, some okay, some not so good. This was something entirely different. Jennifer’s voice is wholly unique. Or maybe I just like it cause she uses words that my friends and I use during daily conversation. Like, ‘awesomesauce.’ Kat stood out to me as a unique heroine. She knows herself, her limits, faults, virtues, and strengths. And she’s willing to act despite any of that. That makes her strong. And I won’t lie; I look at her and I see the geeky-me. Which gives me hope that I might stand a chance with Daemon. I won’t rant about him, but…read it if you want to know xD These two especially made the book special to me, because when it comes down to it, if I don’t love the characters, I won’t like the book. These two should be gift wrapped, packed in a box covered in “Fragile” stickers, then sent to your grandma they’re so loveable.

Everyone look out for Jennifer Armentrout, because her fans might attack you if you don’t read. Nothing serious, just true ;)
